Today, the House of Representatives with Rep. Vince Fong’s  (CA-20) support, passed the Protecting American Energy Production Act (H.R. 26). This legislation prevents any President from unilaterally banning hydraulic fracturing. The Protecting American Energy Production Act passed the House by a vote of 226-188.  

 

February 6, 2025

Today, Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) spoke in support of the Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act (HALT Fentanyl Act), emphasizing the importance of stopping the drug crisis in America, saving lives from being lost to fentanyl, and supporting our local, state, and national law enforcement. This legislation (H.R. 27) would classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I controlled substances, which are highly addictive drugs with no medical use. Soon after Rep. Fong’s remarks, the HALT Fentanyl Act passed the House by a vote of 312-108.

Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) was appointed to two important subcommittees in the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology for the 119th Congress. His subcommittee assignments are as follows: Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee; and Research and Technology Subcommittee.

“On Friday, I thanked President Trump as he laid out a sensible plan to secure water for Californians. His directives will ensure that California is using all resources possible to deliver an ample supply of water to families and farmers throughout the state, including to the Central Valley. As wildfires continue to ravage communities in our fire-prone state, it is important that we do everything we can to enhance California’s water supply, improve water infrastructure, and ensure proper water storage now and into the future.

January 23, 2025

Today, Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) spoke in support of the Fix Our Forests Act, emphasizing this bill’s importance to the Central Valley and the wildfires currently plaguing California. This legislation prioritizes proactive forest management to help prevent the massive destruction of wildfires. Soon after Rep. Fong’s remarks, the Fix Our Forests Act passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 279-141.
