More on Appropriations
As you may know, the U.S. Congress must pass annual appropriations measures in order to fund federal government agencies by October 1. On September 19, I supported a measure that passed U.S. the House of Representatives extending current federal funding until November 21 while we finish our work for the full fiscal year. This was a clean, straightforward extension of existing funding without any extraneous, partisan policy.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) issued the following statement in response to the Democrats' reckless choice to shut down the federal government:

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to pass H.R. 4553 – the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriation Act, 2026. This vital piece of legislation secures critical wins for California’s Central Valley as it safeguards U.S. national security, unleashes American energy dominance, and advances economic competitiveness nationwide.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to advance the Defense Appropriations Act, 2026, which provides $831.5 billion in essential funding to support our nation by investing in America’s military superiority, protecting from threats at our nation’s border, and taking care of our troops and their families. Importantly, this legislation provides a 3.8% basic pay raise for all military personnel and continues historic pay raises enacted in fiscal year 2025 for junior enlisted servicemembers.
