Washington, D.C. – The NASA Reauthorization Act of 2024, H.R. 8958, passed the House and included Rep. Vince Fong’s (CA-20) Making Advancements in Commercial Hypersonics (MACH) legislation. Rep.

Today, Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) joined 68 members of Congress to urge the Biden-Harris Administration to prevent a strike at the East Coast and Gulf Coast ports.  

“We must act take immediate action to protect our nation’s supply chain,” said Rep. Vince Fong. “This looming strike threatens our economy with shortages in needed goods, parts, and supplies which will lead to higher inflation.”

Washington, D.C. – Today, the NSF AI Education Act of 2024, H.R. 9402, was passed by the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. The NSF AI Education Act was introduced by Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) and Rep. Andrea Salinas (OR-06) on August 23, 2024. If enacted, the bill would benefit students and professionals pursuing continued education in artificial intelligence (AI), especially in the fields of agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and education. 

 Today, Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) joined a field hearing in Santa Nella, California titled “Water Abundance: Opportunities and Challenges in California.” The field hearing was hosted by the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Chairman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) and Rep. John Duarte (CA-13). Rep. Fong was also joined by colleagues Rep. Doug LaMalfa (CA-01), Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-05), and Rep. David Valadao (CA-22).

Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) will host two forums for students who are interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy. The first forum will take place in Bakersfield on Saturday, September 28 and the second forum in Clovis on Saturday, October 5. Rep. Fong and local academy liaison officers will discuss the process for applying and receiving a Congressional nomination. Students from 7^th grade to 12^th grade are encouraged to attend.
