WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) has been honored with the “Advancing Good Governance Award” by Center Forward, recognizing his commitment to bridging political divides and championing common sense legislative solutions that strengthen our nation.

Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) was appointed to serve on the House Homeland Security Committee for the 119th Congress. This assignment positions Congressman Fong to address issues paramount to the safety of Californians and Americans across the country, including counterterrorism, emergency preparedness, cybersecurity, as well as threats posed by illegal immigration and foreign adversaries such as China.

SANGER, Calif. — Last week, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) toured Pine Flat Dam and met with officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Kings River Conservation District (KRCD), and the Kings River Water Association (KRWA) to discuss ongoing water conservation research and long-term infrastructure needs critical to the Central Valley.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to reopen the federal government, ending the longest shutdown in U.S. history. After refusing to support a clean funding extension passed by the House on September 19th, Senate Democrats shutdown the government for more than 40 days, voting a total of 14 times against reopening the government and two times against paying federal workers forced to show up for work without pay.

THREE RIVERS, Calif. – This week, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) visited Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park to show his deep appreciation for the dedicated National Park Service employees who continue to maintain park grounds without pay during the ongoing government shutdown. Congressman Fong joined maintenance and road crews to assist with their removal of boulders blocking important water flow.
