WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027 (MilCon/VA). Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) voted yes. The bill includes critical investments in military infrastructure that support readiness, veterans’ health, support services, and commitments to the well-being of military families.

BAKERSFIELD, CA – This weekend, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) held a reception to announce the winners of the 2026 “An Artistic Discovery” Congressional Art Competition for high school students in our community. Students from across the district had the opportunity to submit a personal piece of art for consideration earlier this year.

The winner receives a trip to Washington, D.C. to the “An Artistic Discovery” exhibit opening and has their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) welcomed two Honor Flights to the U.S. Capitol, Central Valley Honor Flight #34, and Kern County Honor Flight #53.

Honor Flight is a national nonprofit organization that brings American veterans to Washington, D.C. to honor and celebrate them. Rep. Fong is an honorary board member of Honor Flight Kern County and worked to assist with these trips so hundreds of veterans could visit our nation’s capital and see the memorials built in their honor.
