Veterans History Project

In partnership with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP), Congressman Fong is proud to assist in preserving the firsthand military experiences of Central Valley Veterans so their service and sacrifice are never forgotten. The VHP’s archives offer a vast digital and physical repository of firsthand narratives from U.S. military veterans (WWI through present), including oral history interviews, diaries, photographs, and original letters.

How My Office can assist:

  • Our Support: My office would be honored to assist you with the process, including guidance through the necessary paperwork, conducting the interview, and submission process.

Who Can Participate:

  • Veterans from any branch, rank, or conflict or time of peace.
    • Share Your Story: Record a 30-minute (or longer) audio/video interview, or submit a collection of original, unpublished letters, diaries, or photos. Once submitted, your contribution will be part of the permanent collection of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
  • Volunteers aged 16 or older can conduct an interview or gather and donate artifacts, recordings, and written reflections.
