Rep. Vince Fong’s Statement on the Swearing In for the 119th Congress and Election of Speaker Mike Johnson
Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) issued the following statement after being sworn into the 119th Congress and the election of Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson (LA-04) by a vote of 218-215-1.
“It is my honor to be sworn in for another term in Congress today. My constituents in the Central Valley of California are clamoring for change after four years of failed policies from the Biden Administration, and I will continue to work to revitalize the economy, secure more water storage, invest in more needed infrastructure projects, increase vital domestic energy production to lower energy costs, and support our military to defend our nation. We will work to make the Central Valley, our state, and country more prosperous and economically strong. I want to congratulate Speaker Mike Johnson on being reelected as Speaker of the House. I look forward to working with Speaker Johnson, the House and Senate Republican majorities, and the Trump-Vance Administration immediately to secure the border, combat inflation, and get our country back on track.”
