WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) is celebrating the return of Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore to our nation’s soil after spending nearly nine months stranded in space.
“Thank you to SpaceX and NASA for safely bringing astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams home after nearly nine months in space. Their return showcases the incredible innovations and capabilities of America’s space industry. Background:
Astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams were originally scheduled for a short-term mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Due to technical challenges and delays, their stay was extended for nearly nine months. Today’s return marks a significant achievement for SpaceX and NASA, showcasing the importance of aerospace investment.
