Congressman Fong Votes to Advance American Cryptocurrency Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to advance three largescale crypto-bills including the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, the CLARITY Act, and the GENIUS Act. This legislation establishes much-needed consumer protections for digital assets while preserving the fundamental right to financial privacy. It also ensures developers can continue to innovate in the cryptocurrency market.
“These critical pieces of legislation mark a pivotal step forward in securing America’s leadership in blockchain and digital asset innovation,” said Congressman Fong. “By establishing clearer rules of the road for stablecoins and cryptocurrency, we’re creating the certainty innovators need to build here at home – not overseas. This is about unlocking economic potential, protecting consumers, and making sure the U.S. stays at the forefront of next-generation financial technology.”
- The Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act stops the creation of a government-run digital dollar, protecting financial privacy and freedom.
- The CLARITY Act sets clear rules for financial regulators, protects consumers, fixes loopholes, and supports innovation in the United States.
- The GENIUS Act was signed into law today by President Trump, and creates clear rules for payment stablecoins, protecting consumers, and keeping the U.S. dollar at the foundation of the global financial system.
